Sports Insurance Plan by Market
WHAT: Go Sports Unlimited | GO Kickball Corporate is instituting a required insurance fee for all markets each season for sports insurance based on a category level determined by number of participating players each season. For some markets, we already incur insurance premiums due to park district requirements while for other markets this will be a new expense.
WHO: All GO Sports Unlimited | GO Kickball markets operating leagues nationwide.
While each participating player is required to acknowledge and sign the GO Sports Unlimited | Go Kickball Player Waiver and Terms and Conditions during registration, which waives a player’s right of any legal action towards GO Sports Unlimited | GO Kickball and its Staff, Associates, Vendors, Sponsors, Field Owners, etc… for any injury or issue that occurs while participating in a respective activity on the fields or at league functions, some people may still attempt to file lawsuits to see if they can win some money.
Our Player Waiver and Terms and Conditions have been reviewed many times by our General Counsel attorneys’ so we believe it is a strong document and will hold up in any legal matter in court, but we still must be pragmatic with regards to insurance and to help the cost of any legal action that must be taken from our General Counsel to protect all of us and the organization if any legal matters arise.
COST: 2013 Sports Insurance Premium per Market per Season:
Category 1: Under 250 players $221/season
Category 2: 251-500 players $321/season
Category 3: 501-750 players $421/season
Category 4: 751-1,000 players $521/season
Category 5: 1,001-1,500 players $621/season
Category 6: 1,501-2,000 players $721/season
Category 7: 2,001-3,000 players $821/season
Category 8: 3,001-5,000 players $921/season
Category 9: 5,001+ players custom quote
NOTE: A market’s category is determined by the total number of players participating in all leagues for a respective market in a respective season.
WHEN: The 2013-14 sports insurance plan will commence for the Fall 2013 season through the Summer 2014 season and will be reassessed annually. The cost will generally be consistent throughout each calendar year while any premium changes will be announced prior to each Fall season.
HOW: The insurance premium will be managed at the corporate level and each market will see a “Sports Insurance” expense on their respective financial reports that charges the respective premium.
